October 2017

Yogis and Oil Lovers,

Fall is here.  The colors are so beautiful and the air is getting crisp in the evenings.  This is my absolute favorite month of the year!  And this is a busy one.  I am returning to school in Duluth on the 6th to start my TT500 level training in Somatic Yoga.  Each month that I am in Duluth, on Thursday evening, I will be teaching a class at Embody Yoga on incorporating essential oils into your practice.

NAME: Siberian Fir $20w/$26.67r/20pv

SOURCE: Russia

PART OF PLANT: Needle/Twig

DISTILLING METHOD: Steam

CHEMICAL COMPONENT: ESTERS/Bornyl Acetate/RESTORING

Our existing conifer oils are white fir, douglas fir, cedarwood, juniper berry, arborvitae, and cypress.

Fir oils have similar characteristics and benefits

Why do we want this? White Fir is no longer being sold, as we can’t get it in the sustainable sourcing, quantity and quality we want.

Siberian Fir has more prominent chemistry.

When compared, the chemistry between Siberian and White Fir, showed us the notable difference. For example, ‘Bornyl Acetate’ compound in White Fir is 11.25 and in Siberian is 24.4

It’s recommended for topical, aromatic and internal use! WOW. (usually we don’t take fir oils internally!!) THIS ONE YOU CAN.

Aromatic:
Evokes feelings of relaxation and rest, helps reduce anxious feelings and reduce stress.  Inhale to soothe dry airways (this is not to be taken lightly, this is powerful!)

Topically:
Apply to soothe skin irritations (rash, overstressed tissues, wound, bites, blemishes),

apply to calm overactive tissues and ease discomfort.

Internally:
Use 1-3 drops in a capsule to support body systems.

Application:
-Combine with a citrus oil for surface cleansing
-Use in combination with rosemary, eucalyptus, cypress for lime for clarifying aroma and respiratory
-Blend with melaleuca to eliminate blemishes and promote healthy skin
